Frequently Asked Questions

Just Wheels

Why Choose Just Wheels?

Here at Just Wheels we pride ourselves on an excellent standard of work and strive for perfection in every job we complete.

Each and every wheel that comes to our workshop is treated with the utmost care and attention to detail in order to achieve seamless refurbishments.

We work hard to ensure our customers always leave happy with the service they have received.

How long does the process take?

The refurbishment process can be completed within a day in most cases. An example of when we may require the car for longer would be if we were refurbishing a full set of diamond cut wheels. This is because diamond cutting is a significantly lengthier process. In this instance, we would need the car for two days.

I don't have anyone to assist me in getting to my appointment, what can I do?

In the event that you are unable to get transport to and from your appointment, we do have a courtesy car available. For this service, there is a £10 charge for insurance and we ask that any fuel used is replaced.

Courtesy cars are subject to availability and may not always be available due to high demand.

Can split rims be refurbished?

Yes, we can refurbish split rims. In order to do this, a third party is used in order to split the rims before the work is carried out. This means split rim refurbishments are slightly more expensive than standard wheel refurbishments.

Do you offer a welding service?

We do offer welding. However, we are only able to weld wheels that have come in for refurbishment.

The reason we do not offer welding as a stand alone service is because it is done 'out of house’ by a third party company.

Why is a full refurbishment better than a smart repair?

Regardless of the size of the damage, it is always better to have your wheel fully refurbished rather than smart repaired. There are a number of reasons for this, the first being the increased longevity of a repair when it is fully refurbished. Smart repairers target only a small area of the wheel meaning this area is more suceptible to corrosion and wear over time. By fully refurbishing your wheel, a completely fresh finish is applied to the entirety of the wheel, giving a ‘brand new’ appearance. This is something that cannot be achieved by purely touching a wheel in.

What are my wheel colour options?

We offer a wide range of colour options to meet our customers needs. Whether you are looking for standard colour or something more alternative, we can assist.

It is important to note that very specialist colours may have an additional charge due to us having to order them in specifically.

If you are unsure as to which colour alloys to go for, feel free to call in and speak to one of our technicians who can provide you with some recommendations. We also have a sample wall which can assist you in making a decision.

If you are bringing wheels in for a refurbishment, we include a colour change to a standard colour (black, grey, silver) in the price.

Can you supply tyres?

Yes, we can supply tyres at a very good price for wheels we refurbish.

If you are considering getting new tyres soon after refurbishment, it is recommended that you get them fitted by ourselves. This is because we will ensure that care is taken so as to not to damage the alloy when it is on the tyre refitting machine.

Whether you purchase the tyres from us or source them yourself, we can put them on for you free of charge after your refurbishment is complete.

Please note, we encourage our customers to take their old tyres away with them. If you are unable to do this, we charge a £4 disposal fee per tyre.

How many times can a diamond cut wheel be refurbished?

Unfortunately, diamond cut wheels can only be repaired a 3-4 times on average. The reason they can only be cut so many times is because we use a specialist lathe to cut away the face of the wheel in order to remove the damage. This means they have a limited life span.

Once your wheel is deemed to have been cut too many times, you will be offered a powdercoating service.

How can I maximise the longevity of my repair?

In order to maximise the longevity of your refurbishment, we recommend that wheels are washed fortnightly in order to prevent the build up of break dust. When cleaning your wheels, it is best to use a non acidic cleaner in order to prevent premature corrosion. For this reason, if you take your vehicle to a valeter, we recommend asking the business which products they use to clean wheels. The use of acid cleaners will rapidly decrease longevity and does therefore invalidate the warranty.

Do you provide a warranty on your refurbishments?

We offer a 6 month warranty on all refurbishments we do. This warranty covers the finish on the wheel but excludes accidental damage such as curbing.

Do I need to book an appointment?

If you would like to call in in order to get a quote, you are not required to book an appointment. Feel free to drop by the workshop any time between 8:00 and 4:30 in order to discuss your requirements with one of our technicians.

Once you have accepted a quote either by calling in or over the phone, you will be invited to book an appointment for the work to be completed.
